“My love affair with photography began in high school when my dad gave me his old Pentax camera and a couple of lenses, all in a really cool case. I hung on his every word of instruction about camera care and settings. Then I was off taking pictures of friends and family and doing slideshows for them set to music. I even set up a small gallery of my work in the hallway outside my room for everyone to see when they came over.”

A lifelong New Yorker, Liz holds a BFA in Dance from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She and her husband, Peter, have five children in their blended family. Before her work as a photographer Liz was a Lamaze childbirth educator and pre and postnatal exercise instructor at 92Y in Manhattan. She served as the official dance performance photographer for the Harkness Dance Center at 92Y from Jan 2018 thru March of 2020 and is now the company photographer for Peridance Contemporary Dance Company of New York City.

Liz has been creating personal photography and video projects since the beginning of 2017 when she opened her own studio in East Harlem. Working with dancers as her primary subjects she puts a high emphasis on the human form and figure. Her background in dance contributes to her eye for capturing the body in motion. She often creates short dance videos to be viewed as companion pieces to her photographs at live showings.  She enjoys collaborating with galleries that show her work, meeting and discussing her images with visitors and being active on social media.
